Jai Shankar Handicrafts

Our shop is right there on Dhibba Para Road, specifically next to the Fort Parking area. It’s a busy spot because of all the tourists and people visiting the fort. We see a lot of people walking by every day. Jai Shankar Handicrafts is mostly just a room filled with local crafts and things we’ve collected. We don't have a big marketing team or a website that we update. We just open the doors in the morning and see who comes in. Sometimes it's very quiet and we just sit and drink tea while we wait. Other times, it's a bit of a rush with several people asking questions at once. Being near the parking lot means it gets noisy with all the cars and horns, but you get used to it after a week or two. We try to keep the dust off the items, but it's an uphill battle with the road right there. Most of what we have is made by local people we’ve known for years. We don't try to push people to buy things, they can just look around if they want. If they like something, they buy it. That’s how it works here. The shop has been in this location for a good while and the landlord is a decent person. We just do our work and go home to our families. It’s a basic life but we are happy with it.
