Our place is located on Bhanyan Road in Pokaran, right where the construction company is. Jaisalmer is a tough place for any kind of food business because of the dust and the distance between towns. We spend a lot of time on the road or at the site in Palripadia. It's mostly about getting local produce processed and moved to where it needs to go. The office is shared with the construction folks, so there’s always someone coming or going with boots covered in mud or sand. It’s not very organized in a corporate way, but we know where everything is kept. We deal with whatever the local farmers bring in. Some days are slow, especially when the heat is too much for anyone to move. We have a small crew and we all do a bit of everything. One day I might be checking bags of grain and the next I’m fixing a door or talking to a truck driver who got lost. We don't have a website or big advertisements. Most people around Pokaran just know us by word of mouth. It's practical work. We focus on the food and making sure things aren't rotting before they leave the yard. The road out here is often busy with trucks and the noise is constant. Life in Jaisalmer is slow but we keep busy enough. It's just a small operation trying to grow. We drink a lot of water and try to stay out of the sun when we can.
