You can find us over at Karni Apartment-I in the Chitrakut area of Jaipur. Zim Integrated Shipping Services India (P) Ltd is located in Flat No F-1, which might seem a bit strange for a shipping company since it is basically a residential flat. But it works for us. We have turned the rooms into offices with computers and a lot of metal cabinets. Sector 9 is a nice neighborhood. We see the same people walking their dogs every morning when we arrive. Working out of an apartment makes it feel a bit more like home than a cold corporate building. We have a small kitchen where we make coffee and occasionally someone brings in sweets from a local shop. The address 29Th 1979 is on our letterhead and we get plenty of mail delivered there every day. Jaipur gets very sunny, so we keep the curtains drawn most of the afternoon to keep the glare off the screens. We spend our hours tracking ships and talking to port authorities on the phone. Sometimes the phone lines get static but we manage to get the message across. It is a lot of coordination and checking lists. We don't have any fancy signs outside, just a small plate near the door. It is a quiet, hardworking environment where we just focus on the logistics of the day and try to get everything filed before the sun goes down over Rajasthan. It is just plain work.
