Whistling Wood Inc.

Whistling Wood Inc. is located at E-522 A in the Sitapura Industrial Area. If you come by, the first thing you’ll notice is the smell of cut timber and the sound of the machines running. It is a big space, but it always feels a bit cramped because of all the wood we have stored in the racks. We handle a lot of different pieces, some heavy and some small, and they are usually leaning against the walls. The floor is always covered in a thin layer of sawdust no matter how much we sweep it up at the end of the shift. We have a small area near the door where we keep the records and answer the phone when it rings. It’s a loud place, so we usually have to shout a bit to be heard over the saws. The Sitapura area is full of factories like ours, so the whole street has a busy, working feel to it. We don't have a showroom or anything like that. People just come to the gate and ask for what they need. Most of our day is spent measuring things and making sure the wood is dry and ready. It’s hard work on the hands, and by evening, everyone is tired. We usually keep a pot of tea going in the back room for breaks. It’s a simple operation and we just focus on the wood and the work at hand.
