Vinayak Hospital

We’ve been here behind the bus stand for quite a while now. It’s a very busy spot because of all the buses coming in and out all day and night. People usually find us pretty easily because we’re right there where the main road curves. The building itself isn’t anything fancy to look at, but it works well for what we need to do. We usually start quite early most days, often before the first big rush of travelers arrives. It gets a bit dusty with the road being so close, so we have to spend a lot of time mopping the floors and wiping down the desks. The waiting area is usually full of folks from out of town who just hopped off a bus and need to see someone. We try to keep things moving along so nobody has to wait too long in the heat. Most of our staff live nearby, so they just walk in or take a rickshaw. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon, but we have a backup generator that kicks in after a minute. It’s a bit noisy with all the constant honking outside, but you get used to it after a week or two. We just focus on seeing the patients and getting them whatever they need. There is a small tea stall just around the corner where we get our morning chai and biscuits. It’s a simple setup really. No one here is trying to be corporate. We just show up, open the doors, and do the work.
