Universal Printers

Universal Printers is inside Mehta Bhawan on M.I. Road. If you've spent any time on M.I. Road, you know it's one of the busiest streets around. We’ve been in Mehta Bhawan for years. The building has a lot of character, though the stairs can be a bit steep when you're carrying boxes of paper. Our shop at Universal Printers always smells like ink and warm machinery. We don't have a lot of space for anything other than the printers and the cutting tables. It’s a bit cramped, honestly. We have to move things around just to get from one side of the room to the other. There’s no big sign out front, just the name on the directory. We spend our days listening to the hum of the machines and checking proofs. It’s not a glamorous job, but it keeps us busy. Sometimes the machines act up and we have to spend hours fixing them. We don't have a corporate hierarchy or anything like that. We just all pitch in where needed. Mehta Bhawan is a central location, so it's easy for people to drop by. We’ve seen the shops around us change many times over the years while we stayed put. It’s just how it is at M.I. Road for us. We keep the kettle going and try to stay ahead of the deadlines we have every week. Usually we are done by six but sometimes it is much later.
