We’ve been over here on Krishna Marg in C-Scheme for a good while now. It’s a busy spot in Jaipur but we like it. We do building work, mostly local stuff around this part of town. Sometimes it gets hectic with the traffic outside J 44, but that’s just how it is here. Most days you’ll find us looking over plans or chatting with folks who need a bit of work done on their houses. We started small and just kept at it. Construction isn’t always easy, there’s always something coming up with materials or the weather, especially when the heat hits Rajasthan. We try to keep things moving though. People know where to find us if they need something built. We don’t have fancy stuff here, just a desk and some chairs and a lot of paper. My brother helps out with the sites and I usually stay back at the office to answer the phone. It’s a straightforward way to earn a living. We’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit since we set up shop. New shops opening up, more cars on the road. But the building work stays pretty much the same. You pick up the tools and you get to it. If you’re walking down Krishna Marg, you can see our sign. It’s not a huge place but it works for us. We handle the local jobs and try to stay busy year-round. It is just how we do things.
