We spend most of our time down at 8D, Villa on Station Road. It’s where we keep the granite and do the daily work. The place isn't anything fancy to look at, just a practical yard with a lot of stone slabs leaning against the walls. We have been here for a good while now, and the neighbors all know us. Some days it is really quiet and we just sit around the office part, but then a truck arrives and everyone has to jump up. Granite is heavy stuff, so we spend a lot of our energy moving pieces around with the crane or just by hand when we have to. The noise from the saws can get a bit loud during the afternoon, but that is just part of the job. We don’t really have a sales team or anyone in suits. It’s just us in our work clothes. People come by when they are building a house and want to see what the different patterns look like in person. We show them what we have in the back and tell them how thick the slabs are. Station Road is always busy, so we try to get our loading and unloading done before the traffic gets too bad. It’s a simple life really. We work, we have our tea, and we go home. Not much more to it than that. We just try to get the stone cut right and keep the yard from getting too cluttered with scraps.
