Our branch is located at 115-B in Kanwar Nagar, Jaipur. Transport Corporation Of India has its roots deep in this neighborhood. The office is a practical space, nothing too special to look at if you are passing by. We have a lot of maps pinned on the wall and a lot of old logbooks stacked on the desks. Jaipur can get incredibly hot in the middle of the year, so the afternoons are usually a bit slower inside the office while we wait for the sun to dip down. We deal with trucks of all sizes coming in from all over Rajasthan. There is a constant sound of engines idling and drivers shouting to each other in the yard outside. It is a lot of coordination, making sure the loads are balanced and the paperwork is signed correctly. We do not have a polished front desk with a receptionist waiting. Usually, you just walk in and find one of us buried under some delivery notes or talking on the phone. The 302002 area is very familiar to us, and we have seen the local streets change quite a bit over the years. We spend a lot of time on the telephone, tracking where a certain truck is or when it will arrive at the gate. It is a lot of repetitive work, but it is what we know. Sometimes we stay late to finish the manifest.
