You can find us over at B-128 in the Murlipura Scheme. It’s a quiet enough area most of the time, and we’ve set up shop here to handle the local work. It’s not a huge building, just a regular place where we can sit down and get the job done. We’ve got some desks and a few cabinets for the files we need to keep track of. The lighting is okay, though we sometimes have to open the windows to let a bit of a breeze in when it gets warm. It’s just a handful of us working here, so it never feels too crowded or loud. We try to keep things neat, but there’s usually a stack of papers somewhere that needs looking at. Folks from around the scheme know where we are, and they pop in now and then. We don’t go for anything fancy; we just want a place that works for us and the people who come to see us. It’s pretty easy to find if you know the Murlipura area well. We spend most of our time going through the books and making sure the numbers add up right. There’s always something to do, whether it’s answering the phone or filing a new form. It’s honest work and we like being part of the neighborhood here. We just take things one day at a time. It’s a bit of a walk from the main gate, but not too bad.
