Suraj Mining (Granite) Pvt. Ltd.

We operate out of 205 Upasna Apartment on Bihari Marg in Banipark. It’s an apartment building, so it’s not your typical mining company headquarters. We handle the administrative side of granite mining from here. Most of the real action happens at the sites, but this is where the paperwork gets done. The office is a bit lived-in, with stacks of documents and samples of granite sitting on the tables to use as paperweights. We spend a lot of time on the phone with the quarries and the transport guys. Banipark is a nice enough area, and being in an apartment keeps things feeling a bit more personal. There’s usually a pot of tea on and someone talking about tonnages or shipping schedules. We don't have a fancy lobby or a receptionist in a uniform. It's just a few of us making sure the business side of things stays on track. Dealing with stone is a tough business, but we like the simplicity of it. Sometimes the logistics get messy, or there's a delay at the mine, and we just have to sort it out from here. We don't try to sound like a giant corporation. We’re just a local team doing our part in the industry. It’s practical work and we just get on with it. We don't need much more than some good phones and a bit of space to think.
