Stone Technology Centre

Our place is called Stone Technology Centre and you can find us at Savitri Sadan. That is over in Dev Vihar Colony, right near Prem Nagar on Agra Road. Jaipur is known for stone, so it makes sense for us to be here. We spend a lot of time looking at different types of materials and trying to understand how the machines work with them. It’s not just about the big slabs you see in buildings. There is a lot of technical stuff behind it. I usually stay in the back office or in the workshop area. My friends ask me what we do all day and I just tell them we work with stone. It’s dusty and loud sometimes, but that’s the nature of the business. The colony is pretty quiet otherwise. We’ve been at this address for a bit now. Sometimes we have visitors who want to see the latest equipment, and we just show them around. No fancy speeches or anything. Just look at the machines and see what they do. We drink a lot of tea while we talk shop. It’s a small group of us here. Every day is a bit different depending on what project is coming through the door. It feels good to be part of the local industry here in Rajasthan. We just keep our heads down and do what we know. There's always something to learn about how stone reacts to different tools.
