Being on JLN Marg in Jaipur means we are right in the thick of things. SMS Medical & Hospital is a huge place, and it can be pretty overwhelming if you aren't used to it. There are students everywhere, carrying books and wearing white coats that are usually a bit wrinkled. The traffic on the road outside never really stops. It’s a constant sound of engines and sirens. Inside, it’s like a maze. We have different wings for everything, and sometimes even we get turned around if we have to go somewhere new. The walls are covered in old posters and signs pointing people in a dozen different directions. It’s a very public place. You see everything here, from tiny babies to very old people who need help walking. The benches are always full. There’s a lot of paper moving around—forms, reports, prescriptions. We don't have much time for small talk, but we try to be helpful when someone looks lost. The food stalls nearby do a lot of business because people are always waiting for hours. It’s a place that feels like it never sleeps. Even at night, the lights are on and people are moving through the halls. It’s honest work, even if it’s loud and crowded most of the time. We just keep the wheels turning for the thousands of people who come through the gates every single day. It's just what we do here.
