Sk Soni Hospital

Down at e-5/52 in the Chitrakoot scheme, that’s where Sk Soni Hospital is located. It’s a neighborhood spot, really. We see a lot of the same faces coming in for checkups or when their kids get a fever. The building is tucked away in the scheme, so it’s not as noisy as being right on a main highway, which the patients seem to like. We have a few nurses who have been here since we first opened the doors. They know how to handle the tricky patients who are scared of needles. We don't have any fancy marketing people telling us what to say, we just talk to people like they’re our own family. Some days the lobby is full and other days it’s just one or two people sitting there reading old newspapers. We make sure the floors are swept and the lights are working. It’s not a massive place, so you won’t get lost trying to find the right room. We’ve got a small pharmacy section too, so people don’t have to drive far to get their pills. It’s a lot of work keeping a hospital running 24 hours a day, but we manage. We just take it one patient at a time and try to be helpful. If someone’s hurting, we look at them, and if we can help, we do. That is basically our whole day here in Chitrakoot. It is simple but it keeps us busy from morning to night.
