Silver Garden

You can find Silver Garden at Shop Number 5, which is part of the Evergreen Guest House building. We are located in the Chamali Wala Market area, right off the main M.I. Road. It’s a very busy part of town, always full of tourists and locals looking through the various markets. Our shop is relatively small, but we cram a lot of silver items into the space we have. It’s a bit of a maze of trays and boxes sometimes. Working in Chamali Wala Market means you get to see all kinds of people every day. We usually start the morning by taking everything out and setting up the shop front, then we spend the rest of the day chatting with whoever wanders in. M.I. Road is always buzzing with cars and rickshaws, and that energy definitely spills over into the market lanes. It isn't a very quiet place to work, but it’s interesting. We don't have any fancy marketing slogans or anything like that. We are just a shop selling silver goods. Some days are slow and we just sit and polish things, and other days are so busy we don't have time to eat lunch until late. We’ve been here long enough that we know the other shopkeepers and the street vendors pretty well. It’s a community of its own. We just keep doing what we do, day after day, in our little corner of the guest house. It is just our way of life.
