Siddharth Hospital

You can find Siddharth Hospital out at 35/36 Neer Sagar Colony on Ajmer Road, near Bhankrota. It is a bit further out from the city center, which means there is more space and a bit less smoke in the air. The colony is quiet mostly, except for when the school buses go by in the morning and afternoon. We have a decent-sized building here with enough room to breathe. The wind blows quite hard across Ajmer Road sometimes, and you can hear it whistling through the vents in the ceiling. We have a small staff, and we all know each other's business, which is just how it goes in a place like this. Most of our patients are from the nearby colonies. They walk over or come on their scooters. I spend a lot of time organizing the medicine cabinets and making sure the floors are swept clean. The tiles are a light grey color and show every bit of dirt, so we stay busy with the broom. It is a straightforward kind of place. We do not have any big advertisements or flashy slogans on the walls. We just open the gates in the morning and wait to see who needs us. Sometimes we sit outside on the steps during the evening when the heat finally starts to break. It is a quiet life, but it is important work for the people living out here.
