Shyam Gems

Shyam Gems is tucked away at 335, Lalaniyon Ka Chowk, right along Gopal Ji Ka Rasta. If you know the area, you know it's a place where things are always moving. We’ve been operating from this spot for a while now, dealing with stones and whatever else comes through the door. The shop isn't huge, but it's got what we need to get through the day. We spend a lot of time looking at pieces and talking to people who drop by. Being in the chowk means there's always someone passing by or stopping in for a chat. It can get pretty noisy outside with the bikes and the vendors, but we’re used to it. We don't go in for big displays or bright lights that make everything look different than it is. We just show what we have on the counter. It's a simple way to work, really. My family has been around this part of town for years, so we know most of the neighbors. We try to keep things straightforward and honest because that's the only way to stay in business in a place like this. Some days are slow, and some days we’re running around like crazy. That's just how the gem trade goes. We keep our tools ready and our eyes sharp. It’s good work, even if the hours are long sometimes and our backs hurt from sitting at the bench all day long.
