Shri Ganesham Textiles

You can find Shri Ganesham Textiles on Amer Road, right near the Jaipur Blue Pottery place. It’s a very busy part of town with lots of tourists always going up towards the fort. We stay busy with the local side of things, though. We deal with various types of fabrics and textiles. The shop is usually filled with rolls of cloth and that specific smell of dye. We spend a lot of time measuring and cutting things for different orders. It’s a family-run spot. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. We just talk to the people who walk through the door. Most of our customers are locals who have been coming to us for many years. We know what they like. The traffic on Amer Road is always loud and hectic, so we usually have the radio playing inside the shop to drown it out a bit. We have a few tailors we work with nearby too. It's a lot of back and forth all day with bundles of cloth. We don't keep a very strict schedule here. If someone comes in late, we usually stay open for them. It’s not a polished corporate environment. There are loose threads on the floor and stacks of fabric everywhere you look. We just focus on getting the right material to the right person. It’s a honest way to earn a living.
