New K. K. Handi-Craft

Our little workshop is tucked away in Sanjay Nagar, right on that 90 Feet Road in Bhatta Basti. It’s a busy spot and there’s always something going on outside. We have been making hand-crafted items here for quite a while now. The space at P. No. B-31 isn’t huge, but we make it work with all the tools and raw materials we keep around. Most days start early with the sound of work starting up. It’s not a fancy office or anything like that. We have dust on the floor and scraps of materials in the corners because that’s just how it is when you’re making things by hand. People from the neighborhood often walk by and peak in to see what’s being built today. Sometimes we sit outside for a tea break when the sun isn't too hot. The work takes time and we don't rush it because handi-craft needs a bit of patience. We use simple tools and our own hands to get the shapes right. It gets a bit noisy sometimes with all the hammering and cutting, but the neighbors don't seem to mind too much. We just focus on getting the daily tasks done. There is always a lot of packing to do once the items are finished. It’s a regular life here in Shastri Nagar, just doing what we know how to do without any big fuss about it.
