You can find us at 17 Anupama Road in Belghoria. This is our Kolkata base for Shapoorji Pallonji & Co. Ltd., and it’s a pretty quiet street compared to the main city. The building is older, with that classic West Bengal feel to it. Inside, it’s mostly just us and our equipment. We have a lot of paperwork because of the nature of construction. It’s not a high-tech office with glass walls. Instead, we have wooden desks and old-fashioned fans. We spend the day talking to site supervisors and making sure the labor is on track. The rain in Kolkata can really mess with our schedules, so there’s always a bit of stress when the monsoon starts. We don't have a PR team or anything like that writing our stuff. We’re just regular employees who’ve been in the industry for years. Sometimes we have lunch together and talk about things other than work, but usually, it’s all about the projects. The office has a bit of a lived-in feel, maybe a few tea stains on the tables and a lot of dust on the high shelves. It’s an honest place. We don't make big promises; we just try to keep the wheels turning. It’s just how we do things here on Anupama Road. It’s steady work and we take it one day at a time.
