Chamda The Leather Distribution

We are located at B-150 in Shanti Nagar, which is over by Gujar Ki Thari. It’s a busy spot. Our main thing is moving leather from one place to another. The warehouse is basically just one big room full of rolls and sheets of leather. It’s dusty work. We spend a lot of time loading and unloading trucks that pull up outside. The neighbors know us because of all the activity. We don’t really have a fancy sign or a front desk. If you walk in, you’ll probably see me or one of the guys checking a list against a stack of hides. We use a lot of chalk to mark things. My boots are always covered in dust from the floor. We’ve been in this Shanti Nagar spot for several years now. The roof leaks a tiny bit in the far corner when it rains hard, so we make sure not to keep anything valuable under that spot. It’s just how it is. Sometimes we have to move everything around to find a specific color or thickness someone asked for. It’s a lot of lifting and my shoulders are usually tired by the evening. We usually have lunch together on the small bench outside. It’s nothing special, just a place where we handle distribution. We keep track of everything in a thick notebook. It’s easier than using a computer for us. Computers always seem to crash when we need them most. We prefer the old way.
