Satyanarain & Company

Being at A-20 in Chandpole Bazar means we are right in the thick of things. It’s a crowded spot but that’s the way we like it. Satyanarain & Company has been operating from this same location for many years. We deal in various goods, mostly wholesale stuff that other shops buy from us. The stairs in this building are narrow and steep, so moving stock in and out is a bit of a workout every day. We usually start the day with a cup of tea and a look at the books. There is no air conditioning here, just some old fans that hum all day long. My uncle used to run the show, and I took over when he got too old to climb the stairs. We have some regular clients who have been coming to us for decades. They don't even ask the price sometimes, they just know we will treat them fair. The market changes, prices go up and down, but we just stay here doing our thing. It gets very hot in the summer, and the breeze from the street doesn't help much. But when the festival season starts, the energy in the bazar is amazing. Everyone is rushing and trying to get their orders filled. We just keep our heads down and work. It's a simple business life without any big secrets or complicated plans. We just open the doors and see what the day brings.
