Sab Miller India (Rochees Breweries Unit: Skol Breweries)

Out here at Plot Number 76 in Vigyan Nagar, things stay pretty busy. We are the Sab Miller India unit, specifically the Rochees Breweries part of Skol. Being located in the Jagatpura and Malviya Nagar area of Jaipur means it gets really hot in the summer months. The brewery is a big operation. There’s a lot of stainless steel, pipes, and the smell of grain in the air. It’s a local place where we make the beer that people drink across the region. Most of us here are local guys from Jaipur or nearby towns. We wear our boots and high-vis vests all day. It’s a lot of monitoring temperatures and making sure the bottling line is running smooth. If a belt snaps on the line, everyone has to jump in to get it moving again. We don't have a fancy front office with a receptionist. It’s more of a functional space for the people who actually run the machines. We have a break room where we eat our lunch and complain about the heat. The trucks come in and out all day long, picking up crates to take to the city. It’s hard work, and you end the shift pretty tired. But it’s a good job. We just focus on keeping the brew right and the bottles moving out the gate. The nights are sometimes quieter when we only have the maintenance crew on.
