We are over at the Shalimar Complex on Church Road, right off M.I. Road in Jaipur. S K Tholia & Co. is on the ground floor at shop number 114. Being on the ground floor is handy because we get a lot of people just walking in to ask questions or see what we do. M.I. Road is the main artery of the city, so it’s always loud with horns and people passing by. Inside our office, it is a bit calmer and more focused. We have been in this complex for a long time and know all the other shopkeepers around us pretty well. Our work is pretty standard for a local firm. We keep our records in order and try to help anyone who comes in with a problem or a specific request. There are no fancy uniforms here; we just wear what is comfortable for a long day’s work. Sometimes the air conditioner acts up in the peak of summer, but we manage. We aren't looking to expand into a giant corporation with branches everywhere. We like being a local name that people in Jaipur can trust to be there when they need us. It is about building long-term ties with the people who live and work around Church Road. We just take things one day at a time, keeping the books straight and the tea pot ready for anyone who stops by to chat or do business.
