Situated right on Moti Dungri Road, our business, Ramjiwal & Co, deals with a lot of noise and people every day. We are right next to the Shree Radhagopal Ji Temple and just across from Naila House. Because of the temple, the street is always packed with people walking past our door, especially on festival days. You hear the temple bells and the sound of traffic all day long while we try to work. Our shop is in an older building. The walls are thick, which helps keep things a bit cooler during the hot Jaipur summer months. We have been in this spot for a long time and have seen the whole road change around us. Inside, shelves are stacked high with various items. It gets quite cramped when several customers come in at once. We don’t use computers for everything; a lot of our work still involves old-fashioned ledgers and ink pens. Sometimes we just stand at the entrance to catch a bit of a breeze and watch the crowd go by. It is a very lively part of town, even if the dust and noise can be a bit much some days. We just keep our heads down and manage things in our own way. We know most of the people who live and work on this stretch of road. It is just a local business doing its thing in a very busy neighborhood.
