Sahara Chikan Art

Sahara Chikan Art is located at No. 2966, right in Phuta Khurra in the middle of Ramganj Bazar. If you know the bazaar, you know it is a maze of narrow lanes and a lot of noise. Our shop is tucked in there, filled with all kinds of chikan embroidery work. It is a tradition in this part of the world, and we just keep it going in our own small way. The walls are lined with white and colored fabrics, and there is usually the smell of tea and old wood in the air. We don't have any fancy lighting or air conditioning, just a few ceiling fans that struggle in the summer heat. Most of the work is done by hand, so you’ll often see people sitting and working on intricate patterns. It is a slow process, and we don't try to rush it. Ramganj Bazar is always crowded, so getting to the shop can be a bit of a struggle with all the rickshaws and people. We have been at this address for a long time, and the locals know where to find us when they want something authentic. It’s not a big corporate brand; it’s just a workshop and a shop combined into one. We spend our days talking to customers and checking the quality of the stitching. It is a busy, messy, and very real place to work every day.
