We've been here at 360 Moti Dungri Road for a good while now. It’s a busy spot and there's always a lot of noise from the traffic and the horns outside. Our shop is mostly filled with different types of batteries for cars, bikes, and those big inverters people use at home when the power goes out in the summer. It's a bit of a messy place sometimes because we have old casings piled up in the back waiting for the recycling truck to come by. I usually spend my whole day testing voltages and helping people figure out why their vehicle won't start on a cold morning. Sometimes it's just a loose wire or a bit of corrosion, other times they need a whole new unit. My cousin helps me with the heavy lifting because those truck batteries are really heavy and my back isn't what it used to be. We don't really do any fancy advertising or social media stuff. People just see the sign while driving past or come because their neighbor told them we are fair with our prices. The shop isn't very big, so we keep most of the stock stacked up high on sturdy iron racks. It’s a lot of manual work, moving things around and checking acid levels throughout the week. We see all kinds of people, from rickshaw drivers to folks with big SUVs. It gets hot in the summer, especially with all the lead and plastic around, but we just keep the fan going and stay busy.
