You can find us at S/52 on Radha Marg, tucked right behind the Rajmandir Cinema in C-Scheme. It is a busy area, especially when a big movie is playing and the crowds are thick on the sidewalk. Our shop is filled from floor to ceiling with stacks of handloom fabrics, rugs, and various textiles. We don't have a lot of walking space because there is just so much material everywhere. Sometimes you have to climb over a pile of cotton throws to see what is on the back shelf. The wooden tables where we unfold the cloth are old and have smooth edges from years of use. We spend a lot of time folding things back up after people have looked through them, though it never stays neat for long. There is an old ceiling fan that clicks while it spins, and we usually have the radio playing some local station in the background. It is just a few of us working here, hauling heavy rolls of fabric and helping people match colors for their homes. We don't do big advertisements; people usually find us because they were walking to the cinema or heard about our piles of cloth from a neighbor. It’s a bit dusty, and the lighting isn't the best, but we have everything sorted in a way that makes sense to us. It’s just a honest place for people who like real hand-woven stuff.
