Living and working in Mansarovar for all these years has been quite an experience. We have seen this whole area grow from just a few houses to what it is today. Our office here is a small, simple space where we keep all our records and meet people who are looking for a place to stay or start a small business. It’s not a very complicated setup at all. We have a couple of old wooden tables and some mismatched chairs for visitors to sit on. The neighborhood is mostly made up of families, so things are usually peaceful during the day, except for the weekends when everyone is out shopping. We like it here because everyone knows everyone else’s face. Sometimes we just stand outside the front door and chat with the neighbors about the weather or the new road work that always seems to be happening nearby. It’s a very simple way of doing things. We don’t have a big website or a lot of fancy signs to attract attention. Just the name on the door and a phone that rings quite a bit throughout the morning. Mansarovar is a big place, but we feel like we know every corner of it by now. When someone comes in looking for something specific, we usually have a good idea of what’s available just by thinking about what we saw on our way to work. It is a practical business. We show up, we do the work, and then we go home.
