This office is located at 9-F-13 in Mahaveer Nagar III, Kota. We are actually sharing space or located with Dr. C S Sushil, which makes the address a bit unique for a government department like ours. Dealing with the public health engineering side of things in Rajasthan means we are always thinking about water. The office itself is quite modest. It doesn't have big glass windows or fancy carpets. We have wooden desks and chairs that have been here since I started. Most of the day is spent going through documents or talking to people who come in with questions about their water supply. Kota can get incredibly hot, so the afternoons are usually a bit quieter as everyone tries to stay out of the sun. We don’t have any slick marketing or brochures to hand out. It is more about the technical drawings and the maintenance schedules. Sometimes we have to go out to the sites to see how the work is progressing, which means dealing with the dust and the noise of the machinery. Back at the office, it’s just us and the paperwork. We keep it simple and focus on what needs to be done for the city’s plumbing and water systems. It’s a job that keeps us busy without much fuss or drama. We just take it day by day and try to keep the registers updated properly.
