Pawan Dholia Architects

Our office is over in Pratap Nagar, right on Kumbha Marg near the Iilm College. Pawan Dholia Architects isn't a massive firm with hundreds of employees. It’s a smaller setup where we actually look at every drawing ourselves. We deal with the usual stuff like house plans, structural bits, and getting all the measurements right so the building doesn't have issues later on. Being in the Housing Board area, we see a lot of residential work. We spend a lot of time at our desks in Office No 105/22. It gets busy, especially when there are deadlines for site visits or when a client wants to change a wall location at the last minute. We try to be sensible about how we design. Nobody needs a house that looks good but doesn't work for daily life. We think about where the sun hits and where the breeze comes from. It's just straightforward architecture work. We aren't trying to win awards or be famous; we just want to make sure the houses we help build are solid. The stairs shouldn't be too steep and the rooms shouldn't feel cramped. We’ve been in Jaipur for a bit now and know how the local building rules work, which saves a lot of headaches for the people we work with. Most of our day is spent with pencils, scales, and computers. It’s quiet work most of the time, and we prefer it that way.
