Niwa Architects

We are over here at Shop No.12 in Pratap Plaza on Agra Road in Jaipur. It is right opposite the Balti Factory, which most people in this area know well. Our office isn't very large, and it can get quite dusty because of all the traffic passing by on the main road. We spend a lot of our time at Niwa Architects just sitting around the drafting tables and looking at blueprints. The fans are always on high because the Jaipur heat can be quite something in the afternoons. We aren't a big, fancy corporate firm. It’s just a few of us here working on various plans and drawings. We usually keep the shop open until late in the evening. Finding a place to park near Pratap Plaza can be a real struggle sometimes, but we’ve gotten used to it over the years. We have some old chairs that have been with us since we started and stacks of paper everywhere you look. Sometimes we take a break and walk down the road to get some tea or snacks when the work gets a bit overwhelming. It is a very simple setup without any decorations. We just focus on the building designs people ask us for. If you ever come by and miss the Balti Factory, you have probably gone too far down Agra Road. That is basically our daily life here. We just keep things moving one day at a time.
