Nitharwal Krishi Yantra Udyog

Our workshop sits right along National Highway-8, near the bus stand in Manoharpur, on the way to Badi Khera Road in Bagru. It’s a busy spot with all the trucks and buses zooming past all day and night. We focus on making agricultural tools and machines for the farmers in this part of Rajasthan. The noise from the highway is something you just get used to after a week or so. We have a lot of iron and steel lying around the yard, waiting to be turned into something useful like a plough or a trolley. The sun gets really intense out here, so we do most of the heavy welding in the early morning or later in the evening when it cools down a bit. We are a local outfit, mostly family and a few helpers from the nearby houses. We don't have any fancy mission statements or glossy brochures. If someone needs a tool fixed, they just bring it by on their tractor and we take a look at it. Sometimes we have to wait a few days for parts to come in from the city, but we try to work fast. The floor of the shop is always covered in dust from the road and metal shavings, but that’s just a sign that we’re working. We don't spend much time on the computer; we’d rather be out back with a hammer or a torch. It’s just how we’ve always done things here in Manoharpur.
