Our office is at 104, Scheme No. 8, which is along Gandhi Path in Vaishali Nagar. Being in the stone business means we are used to things being a bit heavy and gritty. We have samples of slate and sandstone sitting around the office, mostly used as paperweights or just leaning against the walls. Vaishali Nagar is a nice area, but Gandhi Path can get quite crowded with traffic these days. We spend a lot of time on the phone with people overseas since we do a lot of exporting. The office isn't anything special to look at—just some desks, chairs, and a lot of binders filled with shipping documents. We have a small crew here, and usually, someone is complaining about the heat or the tea being too sweet. We don't use a lot of fancy words to describe what we do. We just source the stone, make sure it is what was asked for, and send it out. There is often a thin layer of stone dust on the window sills that we forget to wipe off. We’ve been at this spot for a while, and the neighbors know us as the people who always have crates coming and going. It is a straightforward way to make a living, and we don’t try to make it sound like anything more than it is.
