We are over at 12, Krishna Apartment, which is on Gandhi Path in the Vaishali Nagar area of Jaipur. Rajasthan is famous for its stones, and we are right in the middle of it. Our focus is mainly on exports, so we deal with a lot of international shipping and customs stuff. The office isn't very big. It’s in a residential scheme area, so it’s relatively quiet compared to the main markets. We have shelves filled with different types of slate and sandstone. Every stone has a different texture and color, and we spend a lot of time cataloging them. We aren't a corporate giant; we’re a small team that knows a lot about rocks. We get emails from all over the world asking about the local stone. Sometimes the time zones make it hard, so we’re often here late at night or very early in the morning. It’s a lot of back-and-forth communication. We don’t have fancy brochures. Most of our work is done through direct conversations and sending photos of the actual slabs. The office can get a bit dusty from the samples, but we don’t mind. It’s part of the job. We just want to make sure the stone gets from the quarry here in India to wherever it’s going overseas. It is a slow process sometimes, but we keep at it every single day.
