At Nagarjuna Construction Company Limited, we operate out of F-49 on S.L. Marg in the Lal Bahadur Nagar area of Jaipur. It is a busy street and there is always something happening right outside our door. Jaipur has its own way of doing things, and we have learned to work with the local pace and the intense heat that hits us most months. Our office is usually full of rolls of paper and samples of materials we are considering for various jobs. We don't have a receptionist in a fancy suit or anything like that. You just walk in and you will likely find one of us hunched over a desk or arguing with a supplier on the phone. We take our work seriously but we don't feel the need to use polished language to describe it. Construction is about getting your hands dirty and making sure the measurements are right. We spend a lot of time driving out to the sites to see how the laborers are doing and then coming back here to update the logs. It is a lot of back-and-forth and sometimes the traffic on S.L. Marg makes us want to pull our hair out. But at the end of the day, we are just trying to get through the list of tasks and make sure everything is standing tall. It is basic, honest work, and we just keep at it every day without worrying too much about the small stuff.
