N.S. Granite & Marbles

You can find us at A-6, Govind Marg, right across from the Moti Dungri Police Station in Adarsh Nagar. It’s a busy street and there is always something going on outside our doors. Our yard is full of marble and granite slabs leaning against each other. They are incredibly heavy and take a lot of muscle to move around every day. We spend most of our time with water and stone dust everywhere. Marble is a beautiful material, but it is also very unforgiving if you make a mistake while handling it. We have all sorts of colors and patterns stacked up against the walls. Some of them come from far away and others are from local quarries. People come in to pick out pieces for their kitchens or floors and we show them what we have in stock. The office is just a small room where we keep the ledger and some small samples. It isn’t fancy at all. We have been here for years and the police station across the way is a good landmark for anyone lost. Sometimes the noise from the cutters is a bit much, but you get used to it after a while. We drink a lot of tea and wait for the delivery trucks to arrive. Sometimes they are late because of the traffic on Govind Marg. At N.S. Granite & Marbles, we just keep working until the job is done. It’s a hard living but we like the stone.
