My clinic is over at 27 Khatipura in the A K Gopalan area. I am N K Kaushik and I’ve been practicing medicine here for quite a long time. Khatipura is a busy place, but this particular pocket feels a bit more like a neighborhood where everyone knows each other. The building is simple and doesn’t have any big flashy signs. Inside, it’s just a standard setup with a desk, a couple of exam rooms, and a place for people to sit while they wait their turn. The walls are a plain off-white and I have some old posters about health hanging up. It isn’t a place that feels like a big cold hospital. It feels more like a part of the community. I usually have my morning tea while looking over the schedule for the day. Most of my patients live just a few streets away, so I see the same families year after year. It’s interesting to see the kids grow up and then bring their own children in. The street outside can get a bit congested during the evening rush, but inside it stays relatively calm. I don't use any fancy computer systems for everything; I still like my paper files and handwriting my notes. It’s just a regular, honest practice where I do my best to take care of the people who walk through the door. There’s nothing more to it than that, just a doctor in a local neighborhood.
