N. K. Exports

N. K. Exports is located in Shahpura House, which is down Uniyaron Ka Rasta in the Chand Pole Bazar area. If you’ve been to this part of Jaipur, you know it’s one of the busiest places you can find. There’s always someone shouting, a bike honking, or the smell of street food in the air. Our office is in an older building that has high ceilings and thick walls, which helps a bit with the heat. We have heaps of fabric and different products stacked up in the corners. It’s definitely not a corporate environment. It’s more of a workshop feel where things are always being moved or packed into crates. We spend our days coordinating with people and making sure the export orders are ready to go. The dust from the bazar gets in everywhere, so we are constantly wiping down the desks. We don't have a team of people to handle public relations or anything fancy. It’s just us doing the work and making sure the items are packed correctly. Sometimes we have to stay late when a big shipment is due, and the streets outside are finally a bit quieter. It’s a lot of work, but we’ve been here for years and we know the rhythm of the bazar. We just take things one day at a time and try to keep everything moving out the door.
