Moti Kirana Store

Down at the Mode in Bindayaka Sinwar, you will see Moti Kirana Store. It is a traditional shop where we focus mostly on grains and spices. We have big metal bins for rice and wheat, and the smell of spices is quite strong when you walk in. I spend a lot of time weighing things on the scale and packing them into newspaper or plastic bags. It is a simple way of doing things, but it works for us and our customers. The walls are painted a dull color and have some old calendars hanging on them. We have been at this location for many years, so the locals know us well. Usually, the morning is slow, and I use that time to clean the jars or restock the lentils. By the afternoon, the shop gets a bit more life as people come in to get things for their evening meals. We don't have a lot of space for people to move around, so it gets tight when more than three people are inside. I try to keep everything in order, but with so many small items, it’s hard to stay perfectly neat. We provide the basics that every household needs, nothing more and nothing less. It is a steady life, and I enjoy talking to the people who stop by. We just try to keep the shelves full and the scale balanced for everyone who comes in.
