Modi Export House

We are located right at 122 Johari Bazar. If you know the bazar, you know how crowded and loud it gets. Modi Export House is right in the thick of it. There are people everywhere and motorcycles constantly zooming past our door. It is a very old part of the city. Our space is narrow and goes back quite a way. We have shelves stacked high with all sorts of things. Because we are in Johari Bazar, there is always something happening outside. We don’t have a quiet office with carpets. It’s more about concrete floors and a lot of noise. We deal with many different vendors every day. People pop in and out all the time to drop things off or pick them up. We spend a lot of time haggling and checking the quality of what comes in. It’s a very manual process. We don't use fancy software for everything. We have ledgers and notebooks. Johari Bazar is always a mess but it’s where everything happens. You have to watch your step so you don’t get hit by a cart. Our shop at 122 is small but we pack it full. Sometimes the electricity goes out for an hour and we just sit and talk until it comes back on. It’s part of the life here. We don't have air conditioning, just a big ceiling fan that wobbles a little bit. We’ve been at 122 for years and the neighbors are like family.
