Our workshop and office for Manglam Arts is situated near the FCI Godowns in Durgapura, right by the old Dalda Factory. It’s a large, open area which is necessary for the kind of creative and physical work we do. Being near the godowns means there’s plenty of truck movement and dust, but it gives us the room we need to store materials and finished pieces. The air usually smells of wood, metal, or whatever we’re working on at the time. It’s a hot place in the summer, but we have big fans to keep the air moving while the team works on various projects. We don't have a fancy showroom here; it's more of a functional space where things get made. There are piles of raw materials in one corner and half-finished items in another. It’s a bit messy, but that’s just how a real workshop looks. We focus on the craft rather than the appearance of the office. The staff here are mostly local people who have a knack for making things with their hands. We spend the day balancing the creative side with the logistics of moving items out to where they need to go. It’s a simple, honest way to work, and we’ve been doing it this way at this location for years. Visitors sometimes get lost finding us since we’re tucked away behind the main roads, but once they see the sign, they know they’re in the right place.
