You will find us on the second floor of the building at A-8 in the New Anaj Mandi. It is right in the middle of Chandpole Bazar, so the streets downstairs are always full of noise and people buying grain. To get to us, you have to walk up a flight of stairs that are a bit narrow and steep. Our space is usually filled with a lot of different handicraft items waiting to be sorted or sent out. It’s not a very big area, so we have to be careful where we step. There are piles of fabrics and wooden pieces everywhere. We don't have any air conditioning, just some big windows that look out over the market. It gets quite dusty with the wind blowing through, but it gives us some fresh air during the day. We have been in this spot for a long time and we know most of the other shopkeepers in the Mandi. Our work day is pretty simple. We come in, check what needs to be packed, and wait for the artisans to bring in their new work. We don't have a big sign outside, so most people only find us if they already know where we are. Sometimes the electricity goes out in the afternoon, so we just sit by the window and wait. It’s a very traditional way of doing things. We don't use computers for everything; much is still in notebooks.
