Makan Dekho

Makan Dekho is on the first floor of Ab-52B in Nirman Nagar. To get to us, you have to walk up a flight of stairs that can be a bit narrow if two people are trying to pass at once. The office is basically one big room where we have our desks set up. It’s not a fancy corporate setup with glass walls. We have a few computers and some chairs for people to sit on while we talk. Being in Nirman Nagar is convenient because it’s a central enough spot, and there are plenty of tea stalls nearby for when we need a break. Most of our work involves looking through listings and talking to people on the phone about houses or flats. It can get pretty loud when everyone is on a call at the same time. We usually have a map of the area pinned to the wall, and it’s covered in marks and notes from different projects. The windows look out over the street, so we see the traffic moving all day. Sometimes we stay late when there’s a lot to catch up on, and the streetlights outside are our main view. We don't have a big staff, so everyone ends up doing a bit of everything, from filing papers to making coffee. We’ve been here for a couple of years now and we know all the other shop owners in this block. It’s a straightforward way of working and we like the independence of being in our own space.
