About Mahatma Gandhi Hospital – Medical & Healthcare in Jaipur
Our spot is over on F-151 DayaNand Marg, right in the middle of Vaishali Nagar here in Jaipur. It’s a busy part of town, which means finding a parking space out front is basically a miracle after nine in the morning. I usually park two streets over and walk in, passing the small shops and the guy who sells poha on the corner. Inside the hospital, things are pretty straightforward. We have a lobby that gets a lot of light in the afternoon, which is nice until it gets too hot and we have to pull the shades down. The floors are that old-fashioned tile that stays cool under your feet even when it’s forty degrees outside. We don’t have any of those shiny posters or big screens showing ads. Most of what you see are just folders and medical charts and some potted plants that Suresh tries to keep alive, though he forgets to water them more often than not. Working in Vaishali Nagar means we see a lot of the same faces from the neighborhood. It’s not like those big city hospitals where nobody knows your name. Here, we know who likes to complain about the stairs and who brings in snacks for the nurses. It’s just a regular building with people trying to help out where they can, dealing with the daily grind like everyone else around here.
