Mahalaxmi Moorti Bhandar

Mahalaxmi Moorti Bhandar is situated at 2646-47, Agnihotri Bhawan. We are right at the 3rd Crossing on Bindon Ka Rasta, which is part of the busy Chandpole Bazar. If you’ve ever walked through Chandpole, you know how lively it is. Our shop is filled with various moortis, and it can get quite cramped in here. There’s white marble dust on almost everything, which is just part of the job when you work with statues. We don't have air conditioning or fancy displays; we just have the figures we’ve made or brought in. Some are small and others take up a lot of space. We’ve been in this building, Agnihotri Bhawan, for many years. It’s an old place with high ceilings and narrow doorways. Customers come in through the 3rd Crossing, often looking for something specific for their homes. We talk to them, show them what we have, and sometimes we just chat about the news in the bazar. We don’t use brochures or have a sales team. It’s usually just a couple of us here, moving the heavier pieces around and making sure things are clean enough to see. The street outside is always noisy with rickshaws and people, but inside we just focus on our work. It’s a traditional way of doing things, and we don’t see much reason to change it now. We’re just part of the fabric of Chandpole Bazar. If the tea seller is passing by, we usually stop for a quick break.
