Lecturer

I am located in Dabri Balonda, which is in the Jhunjhunu district of Rajasthan. My name is Anita Balonda and I work as a lecturer. The house is easy to find in the village of Post-Dabri Balonda. It’s a dry area and the sun can be very strong in the afternoons. I do a lot of my lesson planning here at home. My workspace is just a corner of the main room with a few chairs and a sturdy table. I have a lot of notebooks filled with my lectures. In Rajasthan, the weather dictates a lot of our day. I wake up early to get work done before it gets too hot to think. People in the village often stop by to say hello or ask a question. My work is important to me, even if it’s just reading and writing most of the time. I have to travel to get to the main center where I teach. The dust from the desert often settles on my papers, so I spend time wiping things down. I spend my evenings grading exams by the light of a single bulb. It’s a humble place. There aren’t many distractions out here in the village. I just focus on the students and the curriculum. The address is simple, just like the way I live. I’ve been here for many years and know every corner of this house. It’s a steady routine of teaching and learning.
