My name is Lalit Kumar Bhatra and I run my medical practice over at 8 Vishwakarma Industrial Area in Kalyan Nagar. Being in an industrial zone means things are a bit different than a regular neighborhood clinic. There are always trucks moving around and the sound of machinery in the distance. The building is pretty basic, but it serves the purpose. I spend a lot of my time here, sitting in the office and waiting for the next person to knock. Kalyan Nagar has grown quite a lot lately, so there are more people coming by than there used to be. The room where I see patients has a simple table and a few chairs that have seen better days. I usually keep a small window open to let some air in, even if it brings in a bit of dust from the road. I’ve lived around here for a while, so I understand the local way of things. It isn't a fancy corporate hospital with glass walls and uniforms. It is just me and a small staff trying to keep up with the daily paperwork and the files. Often, the tea man from the corner comes by to bring us a glass in the afternoon. That’s usually the best part of the day when things quiet down for a few minutes. We just take things as they come and try to help the people who live and work in this industrial part of the city.
