Our studio is located on Nakul Path. It’s actually quite close to the New Vidhan Sabha, so there’s always some activity on the main road. But once you step inside Da Illusionist Studios, it feels a lot different. We have a lot of computers and screens everywhere. The wires are a bit of a mess under the desks, but we know where everything goes. It’s not one of those shiny studios you see in the movies. It’s more of a practical workspace where we spend long hours. Sometimes we stay so late that we see the sun coming up over the buildings. The snacks in the kitchen are usually just biscuits and tea. We do creative work, but it’s mostly just sitting and focusing on the details. The name sounds a bit grand, but we are just regular people trying to make things look good on screen. The traffic near the Vidhan Sabha can get pretty loud during the day, especially when there are events going on. We just put on our headphones and keep working. There are about five or six of us usually. We don’t have a receptionist or anything. If the doorbell rings, whoever is closest to the door gets up and opens it. It’s a bit cramped with all the equipment, but it gets the job done. We like being in this part of town because there are plenty of food stalls nearby for lunch. It works for us.
