Our printing shop is right in the middle of the chaos at Kishanpole Bazar, specifically on Maniharo Ka Rasta. If you have ever been to this part of Jaipur, you know how crowded and loud it gets. Kapoor Art Printers has been tucked away in this lane for a long time. The sound of the printing machines is something we have gotten very used to over the years. It’s a rhythmic thumping that starts every morning and doesn’t really stop until late. We do all sorts of printing jobs, mostly for local businesses or people needing cards and flyers. The shop is full of the smell of ink and stacks of paper reaching up to the ceiling. It can get a bit messy with all the scraps and offcuts on the floor. We spend our days loading paper, checking the ink levels, and making sure the machines don’t jam up. Maniharo Ka Rasta is a narrow street so getting supplies in and out can be a bit of a headache sometimes with all the rickshaws and people passing by. We don't have a fancy office upstairs, just a small desk where we handle the bills and talk to customers. People usually just walk in from the street with a sample of what they want. We do our work and they come back in a few days to pick it up. It is honest work and we have been doing it this way forever. We have seen other shops come and go, but the printing presses here just keep on rolling. It is a noisy life but it is our life.
